The government announced Wednesday that it would charge Rp 30,000 for a four-wheel vehicle and Rp 3,000 for two-wheel vehicle to cross the newly inaugurated Suramadu toll bridge.
Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said in his inauguration speech in Bangkalan, East Java, that the toll tariffs would take effect a month after the trial period of the bridge.
The 5.4 kilometer-long bridge, which connects Java and Madura island, is the longest and the first ever toll bridge in the country. PT Jasa Marga will manage the bridge for the first 18 months.
